March 1, 2010 – Here is the map of the 2010 Original Growler course. Many thanks to our GIS specialist, Ben Clauss, who continually donates countless hours creating  maps for the Growler and the Sage Burner from his own creation, the best Hartman Rocks map available.

For 2010, the course will be essentially the 2009 course run in the opposite direction (counter clockwise). Here are some details:

The lap is around 30 miles. Full-Growler does two laps; Half-Growler just one.

Note the start configuration: longer and heavy on roads (not Jack’s, Tailpipe or the Ridge Trail!) to spread riders out. Lap 1 only and shown in light blue.

The Skull Pass loop will be run clockwise, as always. That means the course will cross itself at some point back there.

Yes, you will be climbing the Powerline Road off of Gold Basin Road. Expect it to be steep.

The start of Lap 2 will climb Jack’s trail and then drop directly down tailpipe and the Ridge Trail. This is shown on the map in purple.

Expect some singletrack riding.
