GUNnison area
Many people blast right on through Gunnison on their way up to the trails around Crested Butte. Not the worst idea in the world, but a bit like driving past Fruita to get to Moab. The singletrack trail experience around Gunnison continues to evolve with numerous new trail projects being considered by the BLM and the Forest Service. While there are fantastic trail opportunities all around Gunnison, the preeminent locale is the Hartman Rocks area on BLM public lands southwest of town.If you’ve never been out there before, it can be a tricky place to ride as it is a collection of short trails.(read more)
