TRAIL BASED FITNESS AND HEALTH

Like any community with great trails nearby, the Gunnison area boasts a strong contingent of people who use these trails as a primary part of their physical fitness routine.

The benefits of trails are numerous, but four come to mind straightaway: Obviously, trails provide the opportunity for healthy exercise. This happens walking, running or riding a mountain bike. Then, trail based fitness activities or self-powered trail use, gets you outside in the natural world, away from the buzz of humanity and civilization. And, along with the physical fitness, for most, there is an important mental component, too.
